Da han kom tilbage om aftenen og kom hen i Åsted sogn, så kunde hestene ikko trække længere. Han stod da af og skar et kors på stjærten, og så satte han sig op igjen, nu kunde han kjøre. »Hvad går du af vognen for?« sagde konen, »A tykkos, koblerne sidder galt«, sagde han, for han turde jo ikke sige noget til hende.
